#SocialChallenge Day 19: If I could live anywhere, I would live….

If I could live anywhere, I would live….

Somewhere in the Caribbean or in Hawaii.

The ocean has always been a true, unconditional love of mine.

It brings me immense peace and inspiration when I’m near the water … it opens up paths in my brain that lead to beautiful pieces of written work.  If I had been born a Caribbean baby or a Hawaiian baby, I’d probably already be a well known author!  lol.. happy thoughts.. happy dreamin’!

#SocialChallenge Day 19: The Sands of Cabo

The Sands of Cabo

tarabuck_sandsofcaboIf you ever get a chance to travel, go to Cabo San Lucas, especially in the winter, you should really think about it. White sandy beaches, blue waters as far as the eye can see, deep sea fishing…Who can resist that?

The weather is spectacular. Cool, gentle breezes coming off the ocean. Pure heaven. But there’s more. Who wouldn’t want to watch sunrise and sunsets over the ocean?

Sure it can be touristy. It’s a resort town.

And yeah, the cartels may be there, but so what?

It’s Cabo.

And did I mention the food? Texas has the best Mexican food you can get in the US. But that’s nothing compared to what you can get in Cabo. Incidentally, Hotel California is not too far away from Cabo. Yes, there is really a Hotel California. Anyhow, the salsa we get here is weak sauce compared to what you can get south of the border. Try it at your own risk, but just be sure to have a lot of water nearby.

The only downside to life in Cabo? Mexican Cokes. For those of you who don’t know, Coca-Cola makes drinks formulated for different countries and cultures. If you’ve ever had Mexican Coke, you know the difference immediately. Well, no place is perfect. But if there were any place in the world I could live, it would be there.

What about you fair traveler? What is your fantasy destination?

#SocialChallenge Day 19: Tropical? Frozen? Sultry? Hot?

Tropical? Frozen? Sultry? Hot?

No, I am not talking about drinks! If I could live anywhere in the world, where would I want to live? and why? This might change before I retire, so I am not writing it in stone. I do like pleasant temperatures – not too hot, not too cold. Remind you of Goldilocks? So that would rule out places with extremes like at the north pole and south pole and the equatorial regions of the world. Santa, I am not coming to room with you! I would rather be cold than hot, because you can always layer on more clothes to keep yourself comfy. With heat, you would have to remove items of clothing, and no one except my husband would want to see that…lol and/or find an indoor location with an air conditioning unit so that you don’t break out into a sweat.

I would like to be in a place where the weather is pretty mild year round – I do not want to shovel snow! Plus if there were that much snow built up, it would probably be to cold for me there. I do not want to carry an umbrella around everyday. I don’t want to wear rain boots or a rain coat when I head out on the town.

So where is this magic place that I want to live? I don’t know the exact coordinates by GPS, but if you know of a place that meets these requirements, I am taking suggestions! If I were to try to locate it, I might as well get the map of the world and throw a dart at it and see where I am headed.
