#IamThankful for Four Generations

RV Trip with Four Generations

My husband and I decided to buy an RV a little over two years ago. We have taken multiple trips with the kids. We have gone to places to meet friends and vacation together. We have taken it across the country to a business conference as a family. But on my latest RV adventure, I journeyed without my husband. YIKES! I had to learn a few new things about our spiffy mode of transportation, but that was easy enough to do!

Back in September, my grandmother went to visit her brother in South Carolina. My Aunt and Uncle took her there by car and then she flew back. Well, my grandmother wanted to go see family in Georgia around Thanksgiving. She mentioned it and I thought this would be a great opportunity to take her, my mom and my kids. I had not been to see all of the extended family since my daughter was one month old and my Great-Uncle Richard was celebrating his 80th birthday. So there you have it, I told her we should go and so began the story of the Four Generations RV Trip!

We left early on a Monday morning and arrived shortly before midnight. Technically, we got there in one day. We enjoyed the ride by snacking in the RV and stopping a few times for gas along the way. My mom kept my kids entertained with movies in the DVD player and grandma and I chatted in the cockpit of the RV. Once we arrived in Senoia, Georgia, we were greeted by our gracious hosts, the Zabawa family.

We stayed until the following Monday and celebrated an early Thanksgiving with my grandmother’s brothers, sisters-in-law, and all their family members that could make it to Fayetteville, Georgia too.

We had a really great time catching up with everyone, visiting a few places, and discussing quilting (my grandma’s current favorite time filler). If you want to check out the the family fun and see some beautiful sights with our smiling faces in the picture, click play and enjoy!

During November, I have been sharing weekly about things #IamThankful for, but this trip takes the cake. It will forever be a priceless memory for me and my children. Until we make it to Georgia again……

Happy November!

#IamThankful for Family Traditions

Does your family have long-lasting family traditions?

We share in some wonderful family traditions each year that help remind us of all that we have to be thankful for as a family. Celebrating Thanksgiving together as a family with a prayer, dinner, and then a relaxing football game is the way to go! Once we had children, their grandparents wanted to take it one step further and kick off the Christmas season with them the day after Thanksgiving. We now enjoy the tradition of going to Santa’s Wonderland. Don’t know what that is? Take a few minutes, click play, and see the sparkles in our children’s eyes as they watch the lights pass by!

At Santa’s Wonderland, they really know how to help you get into the Christmas spirit! They have a grand venture in College Station, Texas. If you have not been, I would highly recommend it. It may be a little crowded since we have had such beautiful weather this fall, but they really have their business together in an effort to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Purchasing tickets online will help you save a few dollars and some time in line. Parking – not to worry, get a pass or just park at the Texas World Speedway and take a shuttle bus over to Santa’s Wonderland!

Enjoy Santa’s Town, live music, camp fires, funnel cakes, holiday movie on the big screen, photos with Santa, train ride, petting zoo, Texas Longhorns,  and shopping. Then take a hayride or horse carriage through the lights. You will be glad you did! Have fun and let me know how much you enjoy it!

Happy November!

This Thanksgiving, #IamThankful for these Three

During the time of Thanksgiving, we often reflect and give thanks for those in our life that mean the most to us. Today, I want to share about the three people I am most thankful for. These three are such a blessing to me. They add to my life tremendously and keep me on my toes every day of the week, every week of the year!

#iamthankful: This Week I Want To Thank 3 People For…

I am so excited in a few short days we get to celebrate Thanksgiving. In honor of this month I want to Thank 3 people for life, love, and happiness.

Georgia Beverly, my mom. I want to thank you for giving me life! Life begins in the womb, and if it was not for you being that vessel that brought me forth to live this life, I would not be here. I also like to thank you for being the example of how to live a full and complete life to the fullest. So no only did you give me life, you have been instrumental in helping me live my life. I am thankful for you.

My beautiful kids. Words can not really explain real, true, authentic love. I want to thank my kids for teaching me the real true essence of unconditional love. Love that has no boundaries, love that has no time or space, love that covers all things said and unsaid.

June Wells Baker, a friend I met over 15 years ago. We do not see each other, we do not hang out, or even talk very often, but I am  thankful for her and here is why. No matter what time of day or night I login to  my Facebook account I know that I can go to June’s page and find something that will make me happy. June has always been a happy jovial person and her happiness and fun loving personality bring me joy and happiness. We used to work in Labor and Delivery together during the night shift, and some nights I would laugh until my stomached cramped with June and some of my other co-workers. I want to thank June for being the reason that I laugh and smile many days.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Love and Blessing!

Building Relationships in Business

What does it look like when you build relationships in business?

An example of what relationships our business has helped to build, would be Deanna for providing her with anthuriums and garden roses for her Fathers’ funeral this past Spring. I talked to her after the funeral and she said the fresh flowers were lovely and at that time I gave her some tips on rainbow roses for her daughters’ baptism.

Another example, would be Maurina. I designed a Snowman fresh flower arrangement for this young woman, last Xmas 2013. This Christmas Maurina talked to me about a Xmas Craft Sale, next month, and suggested that I be a vendor.

This past year my clients have started to come back for additional help on a new idea they have.

Thanks to my clients for building with me. Maurina, Deanna, Lisa, Bissan, Carrie, and all my clients! I am so happy that I am beginning to have return customers.

In gratitude, always,

Appreciation and Thank You

Learning and Understanding Gives me Greater Appreciation! #IamThankful

Many opportunities with my clients have given me appreciation of their requests and wishes.

One such opportunity comes to mind, when I first started my business, a year after. It was my first wedding for fresh cut flowers and my girlfriend from high school was the client. We hadn’t seen each other for 30 years, as I had moved to Winnipeg, 24 hours away. My girlfriend and I, when I moved back to Ontario 20 years ago, found each other on Facebook, 5 years ago. My friend picked up where we left off in high school and entrusted me with designing the flowers for her soon to be daughter in law.

Twelve in the Wedding Party and I paid attention to every detail that the Bride had requested. I am thankful for my friend, trusting me with this endeavour and I have carried what I learned about the consultations and designing, into my future weddings for my clients. I have learned that each new client that I have, teaches me something new.

To the Brides and Grooms and families! Cheers!

Kicking Business in 2014

Amazing Accomplishments in the Making

WOW! What a year this has been for me in the business world of things.  I’ve been wanting to open up my own business and not a direct sales business for 20 years. This finally happened for me this year! October 2014 was the month that started my 20 year dream of opening my own business.  Bri’s Place was officially opened November 1, 2014.  Bri’s Place is a Women’s Inspirational Boutique/Photography store.  It’s inspirational because of the focus of Bri’s Place. I wanted a place that women could come, see a pretty store that felt like home to them, a place where when they left they felt loved and maybe even inspired, and it’s also a place where Heaven Bound Women’s Ministries is held monthly to inspire, encourage, and equip women through the word of God.

Bri’s Place is a place that you can currently rent for small business training classes for direct sales companies, it’s a place to get your photos taken, to find that cute little shirt or jewelry that you’ve never seen, and it’s a place to come and hangout with Bri (me).

I am so very thankful for this business opportunity that God has blessed me with.  I am blown away by how much actually goes into doing this and I’m blown away by the support I have had from friends and family.  There have been some challenges and I’m praying that they are easy fixes and they won’t be a challenge any longer.  I do know that being in Old Town Spring has been a fun experience so far and it is exactly where I’ve imagined having my store.  So thankful to God for how He is always faithful in helping us reach our dreams.

Hope to see you soon!

What if the turkey got burned…

What if the turkey got burned? …..or worse yet, it wasn’t cooked at meal time!

The turkey, 12 years ago, only cooked 4 hours instead of at least 8 for 20 lbs. I had to catch a Greyhound at 5:00 and it was 2:00. We microwaved the outer layers of the huge bird and the potatoes and vegetables completed our meal. Gravy was not made as the broth was not cooked to a well heated consistency. And stuffing encountered the same scenario. But you know what?

We had time to play with the kittens and laugh, play with the kids and plenty of hugs before my 2 hour Greyhound bus ride back home. I was so happy to see my daughter and share these moments with her that day. So thankful for my daughter.  Love You Deb Debs 🙂
