#IamThankful for Four Generations

RV Trip with Four Generations

My husband and I decided to buy an RV a little over two years ago. We have taken multiple trips with the kids. We have gone to places to meet friends and vacation together. We have taken it across the country to a business conference as a family. But on my latest RV adventure, I journeyed without my husband. YIKES! I had to learn a few new things about our spiffy mode of transportation, but that was easy enough to do!

Back in September, my grandmother went to visit her brother in South Carolina. My Aunt and Uncle took her there by car and then she flew back. Well, my grandmother wanted to go see family in Georgia around Thanksgiving. She mentioned it and I thought this would be a great opportunity to take her, my mom and my kids. I had not been to see all of the extended family since my daughter was one month old and my Great-Uncle Richard was celebrating his 80th birthday. So there you have it, I told her we should go and so began the story of the Four Generations RV Trip!

We left early on a Monday morning and arrived shortly before midnight. Technically, we got there in one day. We enjoyed the ride by snacking in the RV and stopping a few times for gas along the way. My mom kept my kids entertained with movies in the DVD player and grandma and I chatted in the cockpit of the RV. Once we arrived in Senoia, Georgia, we were greeted by our gracious hosts, the Zabawa family.

We stayed until the following Monday and celebrated an early Thanksgiving with my grandmother’s brothers, sisters-in-law, and all their family members that could make it to Fayetteville, Georgia too.

We had a really great time catching up with everyone, visiting a few places, and discussing quilting (my grandma’s current favorite time filler). If you want to check out the the family fun and see some beautiful sights with our smiling faces in the picture, click play and enjoy!

During November, I have been sharing weekly about things #IamThankful for, but this trip takes the cake. It will forever be a priceless memory for me and my children. Until we make it to Georgia again……

Happy November!

#IamThankful for Family Traditions

Does your family have long-lasting family traditions?

We share in some wonderful family traditions each year that help remind us of all that we have to be thankful for as a family. Celebrating Thanksgiving together as a family with a prayer, dinner, and then a relaxing football game is the way to go! Once we had children, their grandparents wanted to take it one step further and kick off the Christmas season with them the day after Thanksgiving. We now enjoy the tradition of going to Santa’s Wonderland. Don’t know what that is? Take a few minutes, click play, and see the sparkles in our children’s eyes as they watch the lights pass by!

At Santa’s Wonderland, they really know how to help you get into the Christmas spirit! They have a grand venture in College Station, Texas. If you have not been, I would highly recommend it. It may be a little crowded since we have had such beautiful weather this fall, but they really have their business together in an effort to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Purchasing tickets online will help you save a few dollars and some time in line. Parking – not to worry, get a pass or just park at the Texas World Speedway and take a shuttle bus over to Santa’s Wonderland!

Enjoy Santa’s Town, live music, camp fires, funnel cakes, holiday movie on the big screen, photos with Santa, train ride, petting zoo, Texas Longhorns,  and shopping. Then take a hayride or horse carriage through the lights. You will be glad you did! Have fun and let me know how much you enjoy it!

Happy November!

This Thanksgiving, #IamThankful for these Three

During the time of Thanksgiving, we often reflect and give thanks for those in our life that mean the most to us. Today, I want to share about the three people I am most thankful for. These three are such a blessing to me. They add to my life tremendously and keep me on my toes every day of the week, every week of the year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Business and Personal Growth

Owning a Business Can Change You

For better or worse….My personal business has changed me, therefore #IamThankful!

I began on a journey in January of 2013 with the decision to start my own business with a multi-level-marketing company. I loved the skincare products and knew I could share information about them with others, so I figured it was a winning idea. Why not get compensated to share with others about what I am using on my skin? At the time I began, my son was only about 6 months old, and I knew I wanted to continue to stay home with him and my older daughter. Starting a business would allow me to feel like I was contributing to our family and still raising my babies! I knew this would be great fit for me.

I have built a client base over the past two years with clients that continue to enjoy the products and purchase them on a regular basis. I do love that this is a residual income for our family and I certainly appreciate my clients. They are an awesome group of women and men that are using dermatologist created skincare regimens to fight the signs of aging, reverse sun damage, unblemish acne prone skin or soothe sensitive skin. I myself, being a former science teacher love that I am still able to ‘teach’ others about how to care for and protect their skin. I am also proud to offer them products that are award winning and guaranteed to do what they say they will do!

In 2014, I have stepped out in new and different ways. I would have never embarked upon anything in the journey of 2014 without encouragement from other women in business. As I enrolled in a social media mentorship program with Portia Chandler, I never realized how my path would twist and turn or how much I would be stretched to learn. This mentorship program has been a gift. It has encouraged me to try new things, step up as a leader, step out of my comfort zone, be creative and just embrace life! I am still learning, growing, and changing as a person and as a business owner. I am determined to never stop until I have my ultimate goal accomplished. Many things are vehicles that drive you along the road in life and I intend to keep going until I reach mine!

#IamThankful for Business Relationships

#IamThankful for Business Relationships

In business you never know who you will meet, serve or make referrals too. I find this to be one of the coolest things as I build relationships with my business clients and through networking. I began my business in 2013, as a stay at home mom of two small children. In 2013, I was not working in my business as much as my youngest was still a baby.

Now, I find it energizing to get out and network and meet new people. It is, in a sense, socializing for me as I am home or on outings with my children most days. When I am networking,  I don’t have the mentality that everyone will be a possible client of mine, but I share my business and how I can serve them and others they may know. In return, I like to get to know what others do so that when someone with a need for something approaches me, I will have a business connection to refer them to so they can get their needs met. In return, I am sure others would do the same for me and that is what building business relationships is all about in my mind.

tarabuck_inspired_iamthankful

Building a business is all about building the relationship. The human factor in business is still going strong in my eyes. If you don’t come across as ready to serve wholeheartedly, friendly, and competent in your industry, then one may wonder why you are doing business? You must have a passion for what you do and be willing to go the extra mile for your clients, no matter what the cost to you. As I continue to grow my skincare and graphic businesses, #IamThankful for all the wonderful women and men I have met and those I will meet in the future. #IamThankful for their encouragement and their inspiring stories. I see it is in stepping out of your comfort zone that you really begin to grow. #IamThankful for the love and support of my family as I continue on my path to success as a business owner!

10 Things #IamTHANKFUL for

10 Things #IamTHANKFUL for

As I begin the #IamThankful Blogging Event this November, I must say, I am thankful for those people in my life that have inspired creativity in me! I am also very thankful that I have several people that have committed to joining me to blog on my site this November. I hope  you all enjoy reading what we are thankful for! Oh, and this does not count on my list, because that might take up too many line items. Please leave some comments below or on other posts so we can see what you think about our writings.

  1. my Creator and the Creator of all things in our universe. He gives me life and can take life away. I am blessed and thankful He continues to allow me to be present on Earth, even with all my faults.
  2. my family – husband and two children – they are my inspiration for all I do. I am thankful that God blessed me with such a loving, supportive husband and two beautiful children that are respectful and curious about their world.
  3. my extended family – including blood relatives, in-laws, and outlaws. They are all a treasure and I am thankful to call them family.
  4. my life – it is such a wonderful life filled with happiness and love
  5. my friends – too many to count and new ones are being made daily
  6. my mentor – I could not do this today without having been introduced to an incredible teacher of technology and going through the process of learning with her this past year. I pray she continues to mentor me and bless my life.
  7. my experiences – the road in life is not always easy, but it has shaped me to be the person I have become. I am thankful to have made it to where I am now and God willing, to continue on a great path for many more years.
  8. my shortcomings – I am human and imperfect as such. I am thankful for these imperfections because they allow me to continue to learn, grow and develop into a better person.
  9. my strengths – It is not bragging, but I am thankful I have been able to learn new things in the area of technology and for the doors that have been opened for me to continue to work at home with my two small businesses so I can raise my children.
  10. my teaching career – for 13 years, I was in the classroom teaching other children, but that has enabled me to really focus and be intentional about how I explain things to my own children as they grow. They both love to pick books out to read and they will focus and listen to a story and ask questions after. It is a blessing that they can be so engaged and ready to learn. I am thankful I am able to be their first teacher.

Thanks for reading! Check out this post from Jennise Beverly from Monday. Enjoy!
