#iamthankful: This Week I Want To Thank 3 People For…

I am so excited in a few short days we get to celebrate Thanksgiving. In honor of this month I want to Thank 3 people for life, love, and happiness.

Georgia Beverly, my mom. I want to thank you for giving me life! Life begins in the womb, and if it was not for you being that vessel that brought me forth to live this life, I would not be here. I also like to thank you for being the example of how to live a full and complete life to the fullest. So no only did you give me life, you have been instrumental in helping me live my life. I am thankful for you.

My beautiful kids. Words can not really explain real, true, authentic love. I want to thank my kids for teaching me the real true essence of unconditional love. Love that has no boundaries, love that has no time or space, love that covers all things said and unsaid.

June Wells Baker, a friend I met over 15 years ago. We do not see each other, we do not hang out, or even talk very often, but I am  thankful for her and here is why. No matter what time of day or night I login to  my Facebook account I know that I can go to June’s page and find something that will make me happy. June has always been a happy jovial person and her happiness and fun loving personality bring me joy and happiness. We used to work in Labor and Delivery together during the night shift, and some nights I would laugh until my stomached cramped with June and some of my other co-workers. I want to thank June for being the reason that I laugh and smile many days.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Love and Blessing!

Serve Before Being Served

How can I help someone less fortunate on Thanksgiving?

November is normally the month where most people will spend time sharing the things they are thankful for. I believe this is why this is my favorite month of the year. I tend to take a somewhat different approach. Each day during my devotional time I ask God to use me to help at least one person. It is deeply planted within my fiber to serve others.  As I reflect on the month at hand and brainstorm ways I can help someone less fortunate on Thanksgiving, I came up with one idea that I have pondered for years. This year I am going to volunteer to feed the homeless on Thanksgiving Day. This will give me an opportunity to serve someone else before I serve myself a big plate of food, fun, and laughter with my family.  This may not save the world, but it will be a way to give back and to show my gratitude and thanks to God for choosing me to live such a vibrant and fruitful life.

Happy Serving!

#SocialChallenge Day 7: What is your dream job and why?

What is my dream job and why?

tarabuck_7_dayseven7_socialchallengeThose are two great questions to ponder. I have worked in mall specialty shops during college. I taught school for 13 years (elementary and middle school science). I currently have my own skincare business that I work from home while I stay at home with my two young children. I also have ventured out into creating various graphics for other small business owners to use on their social media sites.

So in all these jobs, I always find myself helping others.

In a job where you want to be happy you have to be happy with what you are doing. I am very happy with what I am doing especially since I am able to be at home with my kids. **BROWNIE POINTS** Which technically does not mean being in the house, but rather out on adventures with them whenever we feel like going out. I am able to take my mobile device with me which means I can do business anywhere. I can offer my services and products to people no matter where I meet them – grocery store, museum, park, you name it, I can share what I do and see if I can serve them or someone they know in any capacity. I feel like I am able to share what I do with others, no matter what the situation, because I like to do my job. Plus, what I do just might be able to help someone. Helping is what I like to do! SIMPLE!

What is your dream job?

#SocialChallenge Day 4: The things I would tell my 16 year old self!

The things I would tell my 16 year old self:

I will say, I don’t think I thought I knew everything there is when I was 16 because my Dad did and he said so!!! But, I know of lots of things that I told my daughters when they were 16 and still tell them!!!

1) You are in charge of your own self, no one else.

2) Look for a career that is promising, but enjoyable!

3) You get to pick the boy you date, he doesn’t

4) Always be sweet to others.

5) Don’t drive fast.

6) You’ve got plenty of time to date, put yourself and your career first.

7) Read and learn about politics and our society and contribute to it!

8) Hard work always pays off.

9) Get your degree, it is like a life insurance policy, you may need it and you may not.

10) Be a helper when around others, sort of do onto others as you would have them do onto you!
