Rodan + Fields In the News AGAIN!

BREAKING NEWS

It is so exciting when I hear stories about Rodan + Fields appearing in the news, being featured in a magazine article, or receiving other press mentions! We are always getting unsolicited media coverage and the news is always GREAT! In just the past week, there have been featured news stories with the doctors about the legacy brand they are creating and about the direct selling model.

Most recent, yesterday on the Today Show: Click to see the news reel roll —> How the direct sales method is helping moms earn extra cash As a stay at home mom, I can relate to this featured story! I get the best of both worlds – owning my own business that generates an income for my family AND being home with my family!

The last time a new product was released, it SOLD OUT – and guess what? The new product will ONLY be available to the public through consultants like me (and YOU if you take the plunge and jump on board NOW!) INTERESTED? I would love to share this with you! Or with friends of yours. Do you know anyone in Canada? We are going global and Pre-Enrollment is now open for Canadians that want to start their own business as well. #SocialChallenge Day 7: Pursuing My Dream Job

tarabuck_7_dayseven7_socialchallengeEveryone has a dream job. When I was a kid, I used to dream of becoming a dancer. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to take lessons and I am rhythmically challenged. So now I have a different dream job. My dream job is one where I make passive income, I set my own schedule, and I have minimal paperwork.

I love being a therapist, but I absolutely hate the administrative parts I have to do. That’s why I love providing online therapy. I know that tele-therapy is not usually covered by insurance. Insurance is great, but if you use it, you have to follow the rules set by the benefit. Then you have to go through the process of verifying benefits, trying to determine if you need authorization, checking if the deductible is met, etc. That’s time consuming. Not having to deal with insurance means being able to spend more time with my clients.

I also want to make passive income. I am currently working on products that will help generate income while I sleep. The goal is to generate enough income that if a client cancels, I don’t have a panic attack worrying about how I’m going to make up that lost revenue.

Currently I am working on building my practice so that I can leave my day job. Sure there is security in having a set paycheck every two weeks. But my time is not my own. The closer I get to reaching my goal, the harder it gets to have someone else dictate how and when I work. I am looking for personal freedom to set my own schedule. We’ve all had those times where you really need to do something, but you can’t take off because you’ll lose your job. That sucks.

I realize being an entrepreneur is not all wine and roses. But I’m looking at the bigger picture. I know that eventually I will have to give up the security of that steady paycheck in order to pursue my dreams. I think it’s worth it if it means being able to set my own schedule.

What about you? What is your dream job? What would you need to give up to pursue your dreams?

Raise 30K for a New School

How do you raise 30K for a new school? Let social media help!

Are you someone that likes to take a selfie photo? Did you answer YES? If so this could be a great opportunity for you! Did you answer NO? Maybe this cause will move you to snap one and show your support!

Have you ever joined a movement to help others? Did you say YES? Awesome, thank you for your contribution to others. If you answered NO, this is a simple movement to join on July 25, 2014. All you need to do is snap a no-makeup selfie and post it publicly on your social media network tagged with #RFGoNaked. For each no-makeup selfie posted by men and women on that day $1 dollar will be donated to educate and empower students! What a movement! I am sure you can help us meet the goal. The question is WILL YOU?

How can your selfie help?

Your publicly shared selfie tagged with #RFGoNaked is worth $1 towards the goal and will help to raise 30K for a new school which will in turn help to educate and empower students! You can share what you are doing with others and why, which in turn may move them to help. Social media is a powerful tool and with your help we can raise these funds before lunch time! Your picture will have that kind of power in this movement! I think that makes it very worth it when you snap it makeup free! You may think, makeup free, but letting your guard down for one instant will really say something to the children we are supporting!  All children need to be educated and empowered! What is more empowering than seeing all the people that support this cause and knowing that they cared enough to share their photo for the cause? You may not be opening your wallet personally, but you are taking the time to show you care! Sometimes when we show we care that is more moving and harder to place a dollar value on. If you believe this to be true, PLEASE HELP and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT on July 25, 2014!

Loving Your Finances?

On the day after Valentine’s Day – the day of love – I am wondering if you are loving your finances?

love-money

At the beginning of January, I accepted the 52 Week Money Challenge from a group of ladies in the Wealthy Sisters Network. I shared it on my Facebook page and many of my friends accepted it as well.

52 Week Money Challenge

On January 1, 2014, I started a simple Ziploc bag for each member of my family. Inside each bag, I placed a copy of the chart and the first amount to save – $1.00. Our progress has been perfect. We have added to the bags each week. My daughter especially likes to add to her bag. (She is 3 1/2 and has learned how to spell her name, so she knows which bag belongs to her.)

Now let’s say you did not hear about this challenge until now. Can you still get started? YES! I simply labeled my chart with the dates so we contribute at the right time. I also suggested to my friends that had extra Christmas money burning a hole in their pockets, if they wanted to start big, do the challenge in the reverse order and count down to the smaller amounts. Whichever way you approach the challenge, just do it. Some weeks you might have extra cash in your wallet because you took your lunch to work or did not stop in to that fast food joint for dinner. Add the extra cash to the bag and mark off the week that requires that amount. Got spare change in your car’s cup holder or your pockets? Start collecting it in a bowl at your house each evening. It adds up too, quicker than you think. You can convert it to bills or simply toss it in the bag for extra savings if you don’t want to count it now.

At the end of the 52 weeks, I am sure of two things: you will be glad you took the challenge and you will be $1,378 richer.

Now get started, love your finances and think of what you could do with $1,378 dollars that didn’t just slip out of your hands during the year.
Be intentional about where you money is going and make it useful to you.

Happy Saving in 2014!

Feeling Like a Failure

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and makes you think “am I a failure?“.

failure

I recently began the journey to rejoin the workforce by taking a job at my daughter’s pre-school. I went through the application process, training, and started working as a teacher. Yippee! Great Work! I mean who would not love 20 little 3 year olds running around, learning and listening to you all day? Oh, wait…they don’t listen all that well. But really, it is a nice, safe environment where my children can learn, I can teach, and it will add a little more to the family income. Win – Win for us!

class of toddlers

I thought going back to work was what I wanted until I woke up one morning crying about it all. I have two small children, ages 3 and 1. I just knew this job was going to allow me to be there at school with them during the day, so of course that would make it easier, right? WRONG! Once I started working, my daughter would stand at her classroom window when I dropped her off and wave to me and tears would trickle down her cheeks, breaking my heart as a mother. Since my son just started on the school adventure, he cried his little eyes out as I left him in his classroom. He had very rough days too and unfortunately picked up every germ known to 1 year olds and has been sick since he started. I guess being at home with them both since they were born makes it very difficult for them to adjust quickly to the change of not having mommy around them all day long.

And then there was my adjustment – a 40 hour work week, grocery shopping on the weekend, laundry, dishes, dinner, house work, story time, bedtime routines and the list seems to keep going on and on. How do people do this I began to wonder. When do they find the time to do all the necessary chores in life, enjoy their family and live a life that is happy and complete? As I cried that morning, I had feelings of being a failure. I thought here I am with a college degree and 13 years of teaching experience in my past and I can’t seem to find the will to get up and go to this job again today. I just cried and cried. Then I stopped and got ready for work. I made lunches, loaded the kids in the truck and off we went to school. I just kept thinking I can’t do this.

So here I am admitting I tried, but it is not working out for me. It was a great learning experience that I can add to my resume. While I know this job is not what will define me in life, I may have failed at staying the course, but the trade-offs in my mind were just too high. In trying to go back to work, the stress it caused our family was far too great to really think it would be beneficial to continue. While the job did stretch my patience, it also made me realize I am not ready to give up being at home with my babies. So while I would like to contribute more financially to our family’s income, I will have to pass on that for the meantime so that I can add more to the family LOVE account!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
